Alliance hosts slow food dinner
The Open Space Alliance and Slow Food Monterey are hosting the sixth annual OSA Slow Food Dinner on Aug. 17, featuring guest chef Jozseph Schultz of India Joze, who will prepare fine cuisine using only locally grown organic food.
Participants will enjoy an outside dinner at High Ground Organics Farm at 521 Harkins Slough Road in Watsonville, and will be given a private tour of the natural-resource easement to see the progress on habitat-restoration projects.
Tentative menu items include Greek zucchini, local feta fritters, spice-crusted potato cucumber salad with strawberry tamarind dressing, watermelon shooters, calamari prepared Greek style, moussaka and more.
Tickets are $125 per person for a five-course meal including wine. Proceeds go to the Open Space Alliance's new Sustainable, Small Farm Protection Program and Slow Food Monterey. For reservations, call 423-0700
